What is Tallo?

Tallo is an AI leasing assistant that landlords and property managers use to answer your questions and schedule tours quickly. So if you got a text or email from Tallo, it's real and safe to respond. Your information is only shared with the property manager or landlord that is listing the home: we never sell your data.

We also work with landlords and property managers across the country, which means we can match you with upcoming vacancies that fit your needs. Join our waitlist and you'll see matched homes before they're listed.

Things to know about Tallo

Free for renters, always

Your property manager pays to use Tallo, and we'll never ask you for money.

If you get a message from someone claiming to be Tallo and asking for money, don't respond, and forward it to hello@tallo.ai.

People make the decisions

Tallo is your landlord or property manager's assistant. It never makes decisions on behalf of people.

Not a landlord or a broker

Tallo doesn't own the homes or take a cut. Its job is getting your questions answered quickly and tours booked without the hassle.

Beware of rental scams

Scammers sometimes impersonate real companies, including ours. Here are some things Tallo will never do. If anyone claiming to be Tallo does any of these things, don't respond. Forward the message to hello@tallo.ai and we'll look into it.

Tallo will never ask you for money

Tallo will never ask you to transfer money, buy gift cards, or make deposits to “hold the unit.” The only time you may pay for something is an application fee if you want to apply after a tour, and this is through a secure portal.

Tallo will never email you from a strange address

All emails from Tallo will come from a ‘tallo.ai' domain. Emails from strange addresses are probably scams. Do not respond.

Tallo will never ask you for sensitive information over text

Tallo doesn't ask for bank logins, Social Security numbers, or credit card details in a text thread. When it's time to apply, screening happens on the official TransUnion website, never over text, and never to “verify” you before a tour. If a message asks for any of this, don't send it.

Tallo will never represent a landlord who can't show you the home

Every real listing comes with a way to see the home: in person, self-guided, or on video. If someone says they're out of the country, traveling, or can't meet you, and asks you to pay first, that's a scam.

A renter smiles at her phone outside a home; beside her, a phone lock screen shows four messages from Tallo.

For housing programs

Run a housing waitlist? Tallo can help keep it up to date.

Tell us about your program

Waitlists go stale because keeping thousands of applicants updated, matched to openings, and answered is a full-time job. Tallo does this job for you, in any language, so your list stays accurate and your applicants stay reachable. From affordable-housing lotteries to fast-moving markets like New York, Tallo helps city and community housing programs meet their goals without adding administrative burden. Sliding-scale and pro bono options are available for qualified programs.
